A 21-year-old man charged with murdering his father will remain in custody and be brought back for another court appearance on Feb. 16.

Jason Weiman appeared in court briefly Monday morning, where he was charged with second-degree murder in the death of Dennis Weiman, 55.

Weiman’s body was found at a house on Maxwell Crescent, in the Massey Place neighbourhood.

The death was Saskatoon’s second homicide of 2010.

The judge was told Weiman will use the time to meet with a Legal Aid lawyer.

Police originally said a first-degree murder charge would be laid.
