Warren was born and raised in Sudbury Ontario. Growing up, he dreamed of being a hockey play by play announcer. He attended Mohawk College in Communications and his first job was as a radio operator.  

Warren moved into television and became sports director first at CFCL TV in Timmins, Ontario and then at Thunder Bay TV in 1981. As an original to the former STV (Global Regina), Warren joined the team in August of 1987. 

Warren loves the excitement of covering a big or breaking story. His favourite sports stories are when the Saskatchewan Roughriders are playing in the Grey Cup. He was covering the Saskatchewan Roughriders in Toronto in November 1989 when they won the team’s second ever Grey Cup, defeating the Hamilton Tiger-Cats 43-40. Warren was also at 2007 Grey Cup in Toronto. 

Warren likes jujubes, summertime, golf and curling. He has emceed many local dinners and awards ceremonies and loves to be involved in the community.
