Tom grew up in a small town northwest of Edmonton named Fox Creek. In the early 1990’s Tom realized he wanted to be on television after watching Ken Chilibeck report from Edmonton on TSN and Darren Dutchyshen and Perry Solkowski on ITV (Global Edmonton). For seven years he worked within the radio industry, first as a creative writer/producer for Big Country 93.1 FM in Grande Prairie, moving into the newsroom there in 2004.
In 2008 Tom moved to Regina and worked as a reporter for Harvard Broadcasting before joining the Global Regina team. In the fall of 2011 Tom became host of Focus Saskatchewan- a 30-minute Saskatchewan based public affairs program on Global TV Saturdays at 6:30pm.
The most rewarding part about Tom’s job is the number of different people he gets to meet. Tom’s series on the Human Growth Industry earned an RTNDA Honourable Mention for Investigative Reporting.
Tom is a fan of U2 and can’t live without golf clubs, Coca-cola and Edmonton Oilers hockey. He also likes to cook, curl and explore each new city he visits.
